T-Mobile starts rolling out Marshmallow update for the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge in Poland

Earlier today, we reported that Samsung was in the midst of applying the finishing touches to the Marshmallow update for the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge in Poland, indicating that a release was in the pipeline, and now T-Mobile has started rolling out the firmware to all its carrier-branded models of both devices in the region.

This release follows a brief beta program in which registered testers trialed a pre-release version of the Marshmallow software, and comes less than a two weeks after Samsung pushed out an identical upgrade for the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge in South Korea.

It’s no surprise that Poland is the second region to receive the update as Samsung tends to follow the same distribution pattern for all of its major firmware releases. They start in South Korea, make their way to Poland, head into Western Europe and touch down shortly after in North America following a lengthy carrier approval process.

The full changelog for the update can be seen below:

  • Android 6.0 (Marshmallow)
  • Exercise greater control over app permissions
  • Purchase easily and securely with Fingerprint support and Android Pay
  • Experience enhanced  battery-life through Doze
  • Redesigned App Drawer

To see if the update is ready for your device head into Settings, scroll to the bottom and tap on About Device, hit System Updates, then select Check for updates. Alternatively, you can wait until you receive a push notification prompting you to install the update.

If you’re still waiting for the firmware to reach you, be sure to check out our hands-on coverage as it will definitely get you in the mood for Marshmallow.
