[Poll] Should Samsung make a modular Galaxy S8 in 2017?

Now that Mobile World Congress 2016 has come and gone, the dust has settled – and, while Samsung’s Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge are the most perfect Android handsets we’ve ever seen, some say that LG out-innovated Samsung this year with its modular G5 smartphone. We extend congratulations to LG for thinking outside of the box and making an honest effort to return a certain playfulness to smartphones that has been missing for some time. The idea of the modular smartphone is one that LG has now placed in consumer hands, and we know that some of our readership here at SamMobile find the modular concept to be quite appealing if it wasn’t for all the little things that LG’s Korean rival got right in the S7 and S7 edge.

Modular smartphones have their appeal in that you can add modules to them, but LG’s current concept also costs a pretty penny: aside from the retail price of the LG G5 (at around $670-$700USD), you’ll also have to pony up $200 for the 360 VR headset, $200 for the Hi-Fi Plus module, and $70 for the Cam Plus (though you can get some of these for free with carriers, depending on location). Additionally, some consumers want their smartphones to become more mobile, and the modular concept detracts from that view. Some don’t necessarily care for the modular smartphone, but they do want Samsung to bring back the removable battery in what, otherwise, is are perfect handsets.

So, we want to know: what do you think? Should Samsung make a modular Galaxy S8 in 2017?
