We just received word some weeks ago about Samsung’s new, metal unibody Galaxy C series that the Korean giant has in the works for China (though not exclusively so). The Galaxy C5 has leaked in benchmarks, and now, it’s the Galaxy C7′s turn. The Galaxy C7, bearing model number SM-C7000 (the C5 bears the model number SM-C5000) has been spotted in Geekbench, featuring the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor and 4GB of RAM. The device seems to be somewhat more powerful than the Galaxy C5, which features the Snapdragon 617 SoC, as opposed to the Galaxy C7′s Snapdragon 625.
The Galaxy C7, as is the case with the Galaxy C5, will sport a metal unibody quite similar to the Galaxy A series, bringing a build quality to the series that some seem to never get enough of. The 4GB of RAM is a generous offer for the device, and Samsung’s generosity with RAM may be one feature that improves the multitasking experience on what may become a popular series in China. Both the C5 and the C7 will run Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box. Marshmallow will bring the popular Doze Mode feature to both of Samsung’s newest devices, which may improve battery life for both handsets as opposed to pre-Doze Android. Samsung has tailored its Power Saving Mode in Marshmallow to match that of Google’s battery saver mode, so expect to see more Google influence in Samsung’s TouchWiz going forward.
Geekbench doesn’t offer us much information here, but fortunately, Antutu leaked its Galaxy C7 benchmarks earlier this week: alongside the 4GB of RAM and Snapdragon 625, the C7 will also feature 32GB of storage, 8MP front camera, 16MP back camera, and the Adreno 506 GPU. As with the Galaxy A7 and the Galaxy A5, the Galaxy C7 will be the superior of these two devices and could offer a 5.5-inch, Full HD (1920 x 1080p) display as opposed to the 5.2-inch display of the Galaxy C5.
