Earlier this week, AT&T distributed this month’s security maintenance update to all its variants of the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge in the United States, and now Samsung is in the process of rolling out an identical upgrade to the factory unlocked model of the Galaxy S6 edge (SM-G925F) in Europe.
What’s interesting about this release is that Samsung has included the same palm rejection enhancements targeted at reducing the number of false touches processed on the Galaxy S7 edge. One of my only issues with the Galaxy S6 edge was that it was too easy to accidentally open applications when your hand’s wrapped around the curved display, so it’s nice to see the company finally address this issue.
To see if the upgrade is ready for your phone, simply head into Settings, followed by About Device, locate and select Software Update, then hit the Update Now button.
Update: Since writing, it has been confirmed that Samsung is also pushing out the April security patch for both the European variants of the Galaxy S6 (SM-G920F) and Galaxy S6 edge+ (SM-G928F). All of the firmware details can be seen below:
