Samsung launches the Z3 Corporate Edition in Russia

Following a successful launch in India back in October 2015, Samsung has today launched its latest Tizen-powered smartphone, the Samsung Z3, in Russia. However, this time, the handset has been specifically marketed at enterprise customers, and not the average consumer. This likely has something to do with the fact that this variant of the Z3 is the first device running Tizen to be SAFE certified for business use in Russia.

There are a number of subtle differences between the Z3 that was released in the Indian market last year and the one that hit the shelves in Russia today with the most notable being the introduction of a Qualcomm MSM8916 CPU, which is considerably more powerful than the Spectrum chip found in its counterpart. The other major difference is that Corporate Edition supports 4G LTE, while the original model only ships with compatibility for 3G.

Strangely, the handset isn’t available to purchase from Samsung’s website. Instead, those interested in picking one up will have to head over to the Linux Center store, which is an official Samsung Partner. Once there, they will have the facility buy one for RUB 16,618 ($260). It’s worth noting, however, that those who hand over their cash before June 30 will be eligible for a 15% discount, dropping the price down to RUB 14,126 ($220).
