For as long as I can remember, Samsung has always played an active roll in the preservation and conservation of the environment. The firm has dedicated a countless amount of time and money to tackling some of Earth’s most crucial issues, which include climate change, pollution, environment degradation and resource depletion. In honor of the United Nations’ World Environment Day (WED) that took place on June 5, the South Korean company has today published a blog post detailing a mere handful of the ways that it has helped to work towards solving the aforementioned issues.
What makes Samsung’s efforts so unique is that its employees actually take part in the work and the labor isn’t outsourced, so it shows that the manufacturer cares and, therefore, a difference is being made. Over the course of the past year, eight environment cleanups campaigns have taken place, where employees have gotten their hands dirty by planting trees, collecting trash from brownfield areas, installing water economizing faucets, cleaning up garbage along the shoreline of beaches and setting up environmental education facilities to teach young people the importance of preserving the environment.
