Samsung has today started sending out invitations to an event it’s holding in Australia on Wednesday, June 15. It’s believed that the company will use the conference as an opportunity to launch its mobile payment platform, Samsung Pay, in the region, and will provide attendees with a hands-on demonstration of the technology at work, which is something it failed to do when it rolled out compatibility in Spain last week.
As you’d expect, the Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 edge, Galaxy S6 edge+, Galaxy S6 Active, Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 edge and Galaxy Note 5 will be compatible for Samsung Pay. However, Samsung is expected to introduce support for a handful of its most recent mid-range smartphones, which are selling better than expected in Australia, including the Galaxy A5 (2016) and Galaxy A7 (2016). Although, nothing has been confirmed as of yet.
