The Samsung Z2 hasn’t been made official yet, but it made a near-official appearance at Samsung’s Galaxy Note 7 launch event in South Africa. With firmware for the device available online, we’re expecting the Z2 to be announced any day now; we pretty much know everything about the handset already, and we have now gained access to an official video that showcases all of the Z2′s highlight features and some of its specs.
The Z2 is the first Tizen handset to feature 4G LTE support, and like all of Samsung’s recent budget handsets, it will come with the Ultra Data Saving Mode feature to help users save on data costs. The My Money Transfer app will be available exclusively for Indian users and allow them to transfer money to others in a few simple steps, as we had exclusively detailed. The video reveals that Samsung has also improved on a feature everyone takes for granted on smartphones these days – the flashlight/torch option on the phone will actually let you adjust the flashlight’s brightness.
The video doesn’t list all of the phone’s specs, but it does confirm that it will be powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core processor and feature a 5-megapixel rear camera. As we had exclusively reported, the phone will also have a 3.97-inch WVGA display, 1GB of RAM, a VGA front camera, 8GB of internal storage, and a 1,500 mAh battery. The Z2 will run Tizen 2.4 out of the box.
