Samsung Pay goes live for Maybank customers in Singapore on August 31

Samsung Pay was launched in Singapore a couple of months ago and the company is now expanding its partnerships with local banks to open up the service to as many people as possible. Starting August 31, all Maybank credit and debit card customers will be able to use Samsung Pay to make payments at merchant locations on the go. Maybank’s partnership with Samsung for its mobile payment service is a part of its strategy to improve its digital presence across the region.

Those who hold a credit or debit card from Maybank and have a Galaxy Note 7, Galaxy S7 edge 4G+, Galaxy S7 EG+, Galaxy S6 edge 4G+ and the Galaxy Note 5 4G+ will be able to use Samsung Pay. The mobile payments service is accepted at almost all merchants where Visa and Mastercard are accepted. Customers who own the Galaxy Note 7 will be able to use the handset’s iris scanning feature to securely authenticate Samsung Pay transactions. `
