Samsung will organize South Korea’s biggest technology competition this year to expand IoT ecosystem

Samsung is going to organize South Korea’s biggest technology competition to expand the country’s Internet of Things ecosystem as well as promote its ARTIK IoT platform. Samsung is said to hold the IoT Innovation Challenge with the Korea Electronics Association. The aim for attendees will be to create an innovative business ecosystem based on the IoT platform. With 100 million won or $91,000 available in prize money this is going to be the biggest IT competition in South Korea’s history.

Teams of college and graduate students from South Korean universities will take part in this competition alongside people from startups as well as small to medium companies. The event will feature all industries including but not limited to smart home, environment, healthcare, energy and smart car. Deadline for registration is August 25 and successful candidates will be informed after they clear first evaluation, they will then go through preliminary training with ARTIK researchers from Samsung and KEA’s technical committees. Samsung is going to expand this competition globally next year.
