Samsung has now issued a complete recall of all Galaxy Note 7 handsets that have been shipped since the device was released on August 19. It has been forced to do that following multiple reports of the handset’s battery exploding, the company says that it has made this decision to ensure the safety and satisfaction of its customers. Samsung and its partners are offering multiple ways for customers to either exchange or simply return their unit. T-Mobile US is offering customers full refunds for the Galaxy Note 7.
Samsung Electronics America has said that customers can either wait for a couple of weeks until new inventory of the Galaxy Note 7 arrives to exchange their existing unit for a new one or they can immediately exchange their Galaxy Note 7 for a Galaxy S7 or a Galaxy S7 edge. They will receive a refund of the price difference between the two handsets. Some of the company’s carrier partners in the country will also be providing affected customers either with a $25 gift card or bill credit after they have exchanged their existing Galaxy Note 7 for a new one. Samsung is yet to confirm precisely how long it’s going to take for the new inventory to arrive.
