Samsung was supposed to launch the Galaxy Note 7 in India on September 2 but it ended up confirming the Galaxy Note 7′s battery cell issue and immediately suspending sales as it needed to replace all existing units first. As a result of the global recall, customers in India who had pre-ordered their units were sent messages informing them that their shipments will be delayed. A new report out of the country suggests that Samsung is going to relaunch the Galaxy Note 7 in India on October 7. The launch is said to be accompanied by an aggressive marketing push to inform customers that the new units are completely safe.
Samsung is said to prominently highlight that new units being sold in India have been manufactured separately and are not refurbished versions of the ones it has recalled in its marketing efforts in the country. Samsung is said to aggressively market the Galaxy Note 7 as it seeks to counter the iPhone 7 in one of the most lucrative mobile markets on the planet. Apple has recently been focusing on the Indian market as it seeks to increase its share so it really is in Samsung’s interest to ensure that people retain confidence in its products, particularly the Galaxy Note 7 since its successor isn’t due until late 2017.
