Galaxy Note 5 running Android 7.0 Nougat spotted on GFXBench

If a recent benchmark test is anything to go by, it would appear that Samsung is in the final stages of testing the long-awaited Nougat update for the Galaxy Note 5. Usually, when a handset is benchmarked running a new version of Android, it indicates that a rollout is right around the corner.

We should note, however, that it’s relatively easy to modify a device’s model number to falsify benchmark results. However, seeing as a Galaxy S6 was spotted on GFXBench a little over a week ago running a build of the Nougat firmware, we’re pretty confident that this is a genuine sighting.

Unfortunately, there’s no word on when the firm is expected to start distributing the update. However, we do know that it will make its way to the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge first (an early build has already reached some units participating in Samsung’s beta program), followed by the S6 lineup and the Galaxy Note 5.
