One of the most interesting features of the Galaxy Note 7 was Secure Folder, a place where users could hide all their personal files including images, videos, PDFs, and documents among other things. Authenticated users could access information stored in the Secure Folder through fingerprint or iris on the Galaxy Note 7. Now, Samsung is considering to bring the same feature to the Galaxy S7 shortly.
According to a message that we received from Samsung under the Galaxy Beta program, the company is considering to offer the Secure Folder feature as a downloadable service for the Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 edge devices running Android 7.0 Nougat. The feature will be available from the Galaxy Apps store, but Samsung hasn’t specified the exact time frame for its release as of now. Understandably, authentication using the iris scanner will not be present since the Galaxy S7 lacks one.
