AT&T has started rolling out this month’s security maintenance release (SMR), which includes 96 fixes for Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) in the Android operating system and 23 additional patches for Galaxy-branded smartphones, for its carrier-branded variant of the Galaxy Note 4 in the United States.

The upgrade is being distributed in stages. To check to see if it’s ready for your handset, open up Settings, then select the relevant option from the Software Update subheading. We should point out, however, that if your device doesn’t have at least 50 percent of battery, you won’t be able to install the firmware.
