Samsung has announced that it will launch the Galaxy Note FE, the refurbished variant of the ill-fated Galaxy Note 7, in Malaysia on October 25. The handset will be available to purchase from both the firm’s online and brick-and-mortar stores, as well as a number of authorized third-party retailers, for RM 2,599 ($616) outright.

Malaysia will be the first country the Galaxy Note FE (Fan Edition) has launched in other than South Korea, leading many to believe that Samsung has plans to bring the device, which is being marketed as a piece of memorabilia, to a number of other Asian countries in the not-too-distant future, though that’s far from confirmed.
What’s the difference between the Galaxy Note 7 and the Galaxy Note FE?
The main differences between the Galaxy Note 7 and the Galaxy Note FE are that the latter ships with a 3,200mAh battery, Bixby and Galaxy Note Fan Edition branding on the rear. It continues to sport a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display, an in-house Exynos 8890 octa-core processor and a 12MP rear-facing camera.
