Samsung lists the Galaxy A5 (2018) on its website

Samsung is expected to unveil its new Galaxy A (2018) series in the near future. There have been a lot of reports recently about the Galaxy A5 (2018) and the Galaxy A7 (2018). A listing for the former has now been spotted on Samsung’s South Korean website.

The listing states the obvious, that Samsung has the Galaxy A5 (2018) in the pipeline. It doesn’t reveal anything about the device itself, though.

The Galaxy A5 (2018) will be powered by Samsung’s Exynos 7885 processor. The chip recently received its Bluetooth certification. It was thus revealed that the chip supports Bluetooth 5.0, making this the first mid-range Samsung handset to support the standard.

It was also confirmed recently that the Galaxy A5 (2018) is going to feature an Infinity Display with 18.5:9 aspect ratio. The handset won’t have a home button on the front and the fingerprint sensor might be relocated to the back.

The support page listing for the Galaxy A5 (2018) has been spotted on Samsung’s South Korean website. It mentions the model number SM-A530 which is what Samsung will use for the upcoming handset. Its predecessor, the Galaxy A5 (2017), has the model number SM-A520.

Samsung is yet to confirm when the new Galaxy A (2018) series is going to be launched. We can expect it to come out in January 2018.
