Samsung is expected to pull out all the stops for the Galaxy S10 due early next year as it’s going to be the company’s 10th anniversary flagship. The reports so far have suggested that its processor will be an absolute ripper, it may have an in-display fingerprint sensor, a more impressive screen-to-body ratio among other advancements.
Some reports have even suggested that Samsung may introduce a triple-camera system with the Galaxy S10 which is something we have never seen before on a Samsung smartphone. A new report from South Korea reiterates this possibility, adding that the company may actually release three different variants of the Galaxy S10.

It was previously revealed that Samsung refers to the next flagship internally as “Beyond.” Today’s report claims that Samsung is preparing three variants of the Galaxy S10 codenamed Beyond 0, Beyond 1 and Beyond 2.
Beyond 0 is said to be an “entry-level” model with a 5.8-inch flat display panel. It’s unclear if it’s going to have a different power package as well given that it has been billed as the cheapest model in the lineup. Beyond 1 is also said to feature a 5.8-inch display but it may be a curved panel much like how it is on the Galaxy S9. Beyond 2 will be the Galaxy S9+’s successor with its 6.2-inch curved display. It’s this particular model that’s said to feature Samsung’s triple-camera system.
If the information contained in the report is accurate, it would be the first time that Samsung offers three different variants of its flagship smartphone. It only started offering two models back in 2015 with the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge and then changed the nomenclature with the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ in 2017.
No technical details about Samsung’s triple-camera system are mentioned in this report. Samsung is expected to respond to Huawei with its own solution after the Chinese company launched its triple-camera touring P20 Pro recently. Huawei claims that the setup offers “master level” photography features with its 40-megapixel primary sensor + 8-megapixel secondary sensor backed up by a 20-megapixel monochrome sensor. The setup has largely received positive reviews.
What the addition of a triple-camera system will mean for the top-of-the-line Galaxy S10 model’s price remains to be seen. It may very well go past the $1,000 barrier and it remains to be seen if the handset will offer enough to customers to justify the purchase.
