In the annual ‘Asia’s Top 1000 Brands’ online survey conducted by Campaign Asia-Pacific and Nielsen, Samsung Electronics has emerged as the best brand in Asia in 2018 for the seventh consecutive year. The study covered 17 major product categories including consumer electronics, retail, financial services, e-commerce, F&B, automotive, etc., and 79 sub-categories to gauge brand value.
Spanned across 13 markets
The survey which spanned across 13 markets – Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam – had 400 participants in each market, barring India and China where the sample size was 800 and 1,200 respectively. The survey took age, gender, and monthly household income into consideration to make it more representative.
The following two questions were posed to the participants in the survey:
- When you think of the following category, which is the best brand that comes to your mind? By best, we mean the one that you trust the most or the one that has the best reputation in the category.
- Apart from the best brand that you entered, which brand do you consider to be the second-best brand in the category?
