The Galaxy A9 (2018) is the world’s first smartphone with four cameras at the back. In addition to a 24MP primary camera and a 5MP depth sensor for Live Focus shots, the Galaxy A9 comes with a telephoto lens for 2x optical zoom capability and an ultra-wide lens for 120-degree photos. The A9 is also packed to the brim with other interesting features. Those include the Snapdragon 710 SoC, up to 8GB of RAM, and a 3,800 mAh battery.
Galaxy A9 price and release date
There’s no water resistance nor full Samsung Pay support, but you do get Bixby Voice and Dolby Atmos support (over wired and Bluetooth audio). There’s a 24-megapixel front camera up front for selfies and a rear-facing fingerprint sensor. The A9 also comes in striking new gradient colors. And all of those features come at a premium, as expected. The recommended retail Galaxy A9 price is set at €599 for the base model with 6GB of RAM in Europe.
As for a release date, the Galaxy A9 will be releasing in select markets sometime in November. Concrete dates and individual pricing information for various countries will be revealed by the local Samsung arm. If the Galaxy A7 (2018) is anything to go by, having access to an ultra-wide camera and a zoom lens on a single phone should make the Galaxy A9 quite attractive.
