The Galaxy J5 (2017) November security patch update is now rolling out in South Korea. This is the first software update for the device in the country after the Oreo update was released. The update has been released for the J5 (2017) on carriers KT, LG UPlus and SK Telecom. The new software versions for each carrier are J530KKKU2BRJ2, J530LKLU2BRJ2, and J530SKSU2BRJ2.
Galaxy J5 (2017) getting the latest security fixes
The November 2018 security patch comes with fixes for 11 critical vulnerabilities that were found to affect the Android OS. 8 critical vulnerabilities exclusive to Samsung’s software have also been patched. It’s unclear if the update also comes with other notable changes or new features. With Oreo having released just a couple of months back, the update may iron out some bugs and issues and make the phone more stable, along with enhancing security.
The Galaxy J5 (2017) November update can be downloaded by going into the Software update section of the phone’s Settings app. The latest software is also available for download from our firmware database and should be rolling out over Samsung Smart Switch as well.
