Samsung unveiled a couple of new notebooks late last year. The Notebook 9 Pen aimed to provide a powerful, portable, connected and secure experience to customers. It seems to have been very well received in Samsung’s home country. According to local reports, the company has sold 110,000 units of this notebook there so far.
The Notebook 9 Pen was released in South Korea back in December 2017. As the name suggests, it comes with support for the S Pen. This allows users an additional input method to get work done on the move.
Notebook 9 Pen does well despite shrinking laptop market
Local media reports claim, citing industry sources, that Samsung has sold 110,000 units of this laptop since last year. It seems that the device is still quite popular down there. Samsung is now expected to sell an additional 120,000 units of this notebook in the coming months.
This is quite a significant achievement for Samsung. The Korean market for laptops has been decreasing steadily over the previous quarters. IDC Korea’s data shows that laptop shipments in South Korea were down 7.2 percent in January-September 2018 compared to the same period last year. Samsung’s Notebook 9 Pen has been able to perform well despite that pressure.
The Notebook 9 Pen has a 13-inch display, an 8th Gen Intel processor with up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. There’s a 39Wh battery in the premium magnesium aluminum chassis. It even has a 360-degree hinge for enhanced flexibility. The S Pen brings the Air Command menu to this device which comes up with the stylus is removed from the notebook. It also has Windows Hello support for integrated secure authentication.
