The day that we had all been waiting for is finally here. Samsung has released the Galaxy S10e, Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+ in 70 countries across the globe. The company is looking to release the handset in dozens of additional countries by the end of this month.
Many pre-order customers have started receiving their units since yesterday and many more will get them today. So this is as good a time as any to remind you that you should check for a firmware update after you set up your brand new Samsung flagship. The company has rolled out a day-one update for it.
We have already received this update on our unlocked review units. Even carrier-locked units in the United States will get it today. Carriers like Verizon and T-Mobile have detailed what this firmware update brings.
You get security patches but that’s just the February 2019 security patch. The device isn’t being bumped up to the latest March patch just yet. The changelog also mentions improvements for the camera and the in-display fingerprint sensor. We found in our Galaxy S10+ review that it works really well but nobody ever said no to more improvement.
This won’t be a substantial update by any stretch of the imagination. So it won’t take you more than a few minutes after setting up your Galaxy S10 to install the update.
