The Samsung Galaxy S10+ — and Galaxy S10, for that matter — will cost a fortune to repair as the excessive use of strong adhesive makes it nothing short of a nightmare to dismantle and reassemble, according to teardown expert iFixit, and that’s something that’s going to need to be done as the handset has to be stripped to its bare bones to complete an all-too-common screen replacement.

As documented in a video iFixit shared on YouTube on March 6, the Galaxy S10+ can be dismantled in thirteen painstaking steps, with access to all major components hidden behind the handset’s glass backplate, which could shatter while being disassembled. That’ll result in the price of repairs soaring through the room as engineers look to introduce a safety net to cover any accidental breakages.
But it’s not the most difficult smartphone to repair
For that reason, iFixit awarded the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+ a disappointing repairability score of three out of ten, with ten being the easiest to repair and one, well, the most difficult. The Galaxy S9, for comparison, earned a score of four — the same as the Galaxy Note 8 and Galaxy S8. The Essential Phone (Essential PH-1) received the lowest rating possible: a disturbing one out of ten.
