North American carriers have been dragging their feet with updates for the Galaxy S10. Sprint was the only major carrier that released the April update in April, although it did have more reason to be quick: It had to fix some serious LTE reception issues that Galaxy S10 owners had been facing on its network (although the final solution involved replacing all affected devices). Verizon released the April update earlier this week, and T-Mobile has now followed up with an update for their subscribers.
The update that’s rolling out to T-Mobile’s Galaxy S10 only includes the April 2019 security patch; there’s no Night mode for the camera app, which is likely to disappoint those who have been looking forward to it. The update is a 183 MB download and bumps the software version to G970USQU1ASD7, G973USQU1ASD7, and G975USQU1ASD7 for the S10e, S10, and S10+ respectively. The update is likely to be rolling out in stages but should be available for all T-Mobile Galaxy S10 users by the end of the week.
To check if it’s available for your device, open the Settings app, select Software update, then select Download and install. We have the firmware for the new update in our database for those who would like to upgrade right away.
