The tablet market has been in a constant state of decline. It’s not surprising. Smartphones have become larger and more capable in recent years, effectively eliminating the need for small tablets. Foldable smartphones will only add to that since they will double as both a smartphone and tablet, much like the Galaxy Fold does.
There’s still demand for larger tablets, though, which is why companies like Samsung continue to make them. As we have exclusively revealed, Samsung has the Galaxy Tab S6 ready to go and it will arrive in the next few weeks.
The question is, do you as a consumer care about tablets anymore? There are some specific use cases in which tablets make sense. They’re heavily relied upon in the education sector and in hospitals, for example. You will also find them on the production floor of large factories where employees use them to keep operations running smoothly. Some budget airlines even hand them out as in-flight entertainment screens in exchange for a nominal fee.
As much as the companies that make tablets claim, they’re still not a replacement for a laptop. If you want to get real work done while on the move a laptop is still your best bet. However, tablets have certainly come a long way in aiding you to be productive on the road. Or you just might be a casual user, relying on a tablet for spending your Sundays binging Netflix, reading e-books, surfing the web, etc.
So, do you care about tablets? Are you so into them that you buy Samsung’s latest flagship Galaxy Tab S every year or would you only consider buying one if it was available at a significant discount, for example? Have you written them off completely and feel that one wouldn’t really make a difference in your life? We’d love to hear your thoughts about this so vote below and let’s get a conversation started in the comments section.
