AT&T is closely following in Verizon’s footsteps as far as recent updates for the Galaxy Note 9 are concerned. After Big Red introduced Night camera mode and the QR scanner feature along with the July 2019 security patch for the Galaxy Note 9 earlier this week, AT&T is now doing the same and has launched a similar update for customers on its network.
Night camera mode, QR scanner, and Advanced Messaging
Interestingly, the unlocked Galaxy Note 9 in the US has not yet received an update featuring the Night camera mode and July 2019 security patch, but Verizon managed to include these features in its latest release last week. AT&T is now doing the same and is launching the update identified by the same N960USQU2CSGA build number.
Another feature present in this latest update is Advanced Messaging for the Samsung Messages application. This allows eligible AT&T customers to send messages containing attachments of up to 10MB, such as high-resolution photos or videos. Keep in mind that you have to be an AT&T postpaid wireless customer to take advantage of this new feature.
The software package weighs around 800MB and the update can be triggered manually by opening the Settings app on the phone, accessing Software update and selecting Download and install.
