Samsung recently unveiled the Galaxy Tab S6, its flagship tablet for the year. It seriously ups Samsung’s tablet game with some new tech one of which is ultra-fast UFS 3.0 storage. Samsung also has a display certification for this flagship product that it would like you to know about. It points out that the Galaxy Tab S6 is the world’s first tablet to receive HDR10+ certification. This means that it can support next-generation HDR video.
This certification has been awarded to the Galaxy Tab S6 after extensive quality testing. This is the first time that the official HDR10+ logo certification has been applied to a tablet. HDR10+ is described as the next-generation open standard for high dynamic range video. It optimizes the brightness levels to provide a more immersive viewing experience.
Galaxy Tab S6 is the first tablet with HDR10+ certification
It’s a step up from static HDR10 which improved the color and contrast of video content. HDR10+ uses dynamic tone mapping that’s specific to each scene. This results in the settings being continuously fine-tuned so that the content plays with more vivid color and better light and shadow details.
The Galaxy Tab S6 features a 10.5-inch WQXGA Super AMOLED display. If there’s ever one certainty about a Samsung flagship it’s that the AMOLED display will be exceptional. Couple that with HDR10+ certification on the Galaxy Tab S6 and you’re got a formidable content consumption machine.
It’s far from the only device in Samsung’s ecosystem to have been awarded with the HDR10+ certification. The Galaxy S10 was actually the first device to support mobile HDR10+. The Galaxy Note 10 has also received the certification. The Galaxy Tab S6 will be available starting August 23 in select markets across the globe.
