Samsung unveiled the Galaxy A71 alongside the Galaxy A51 last month. It only held a press launch for the Galaxy A51 in Vietnam and the Galaxy A71 wasn’t showcased at the event. We would know, we were there to go hands-on with the Galaxy A51. The company said that the Galaxy A71 would hit the market in February.
It appears that Indonesia might be one of the first markets to get this device. Samsung Indonesia has officially confirmed that it will start taking pre-orders for the Galaxy A71 from January 20. There’s a sweet incentive for customers who pre-order the device, they’ll get the Galaxy Buds wireless earbuds for free.
Galaxy A71 pre-order customers get Galaxy Buds for free in Indonesia
Samsung Indonesia initially confirmed through its official Twitter account that the Galaxy A71 will be available for pre-order starting January 20 through January 27. It later confirmed through a statement provided to KompasTekno that the handset is going to be priced at Rp6,099,000, which is just under $450.
Customers in Indonesia will be able to pre-order the device through Samsung’s official store on a number of e-commerce portals like Lazada, JD.id, Shopee and more. Those who pre-order the device will receive the Galaxy Buds for free. Customers elsewhere will certainly appreciate if their local Samsung divisions offer this pre-order incentive as well. Teasers for the device recently went live in India, so it could launch there in the coming weeks.
The Galaxy A71 has a 6.7-inch Infinity-O display with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 processor with 6/8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. It also features a 64-megapixel f/1.8 primary camera with the same 12-megapixel ultra-wide, 5-megapixel depth and 5-megapixel macro cameras as the Galaxy A51. There are only a handful of differences between the two devices which are better highlighted in our Galaxy A51 vs Galaxy A71 specs comparison.
As we’ve mentioned in our Galaxy A51 review, Samsung’s first new smartphone of the year is a very capable device and is the perfect option in its price bracket. The Galaxy A71 will appeal to a slightly more discerning customer who would be willing to pay the $100 difference between their prices for a slightly larger display, a higher resolution primary camera and a bigger battery with 25W fast charging. Samsung also has a 5G variant of the Galaxy A71 in the pipeline and we hear that it may also be made available in the United States.
Expect Samsung to gradually make the Galaxy A71 available in more markets across the globe next month. We’ll have a review up for you once the handset drops by our office.
