Galaxy Note 10+ and Galaxy Note 9 receive February 2020 security patch

Samsung has become quite proactive these days in rolling out new security patches for its devices even before Google puts up the release notes. We have seen the company do this consistently over the past few weeks.

Having already released the patch for the Galaxy Tab S3 this week, Samsung today started rolling out the February 2020 security patch for the Galaxy Note 10+ and the Galaxy Note 9.

February 2020 patch out for the Galaxy Note 10+ and Galaxy Note 9

Samsung is rolling out firmware version N960FXXS4DTA5 for the Galaxy Note 9 and N975FXXS2BTA7 for the Galaxy Note 10+. Both have been released only in Germany so far but it’s only a matter of time now before these updates are sent out in other markets. Samsung will soon release the update over-the-air, but you can already download it from our firmware section by clicking on the respective version number.

It’s safe to say that the updates don’t bring much in the way of new features to these devices. These are just routine security maintenance releases that Samsung releases every month to ensure that they’re all patched up and protected against any vulnerabilities.

Even Google hasn’t detailed the February 2020 security maintenance release as yet so it’s unclear exactly which vulnerabilities have been addressed. Samsung should post its own release notes in the coming days which will also highlight the vulnerabilities that have been addressed in Samsung’s own software.
