Unlocked Galaxy S10 and Note 10 get January security update in the US

Samsung is rolling out the January 2020 security update for unlocked Galaxy S10 and Galaxy Note 10 devices in the US. The Galaxy S10e, S10, S10+, Note 10, and Note 10+ have picked up a new update in the country that bundles the latest Android security patch and, well, that’s about it. The update comes with software version G97*U1UES2CSL1 for the Galaxy S10 series and N97*U1UES2BSLD for the Galaxy Note 10 duo.

While the Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10+ have received the January 2020 security update in other countries, this is the first time the January patch has been released for the Galaxy S10 lineup. We’re assuming the Exynos-powered Galaxy S10 models will soon be getting the update in other countries, as Samsung has been getting better and better at quickly pushing out the latest security patches to its flagship phones.

As with all updates, you can download this one on your Galaxy S10e, S10, S10+, Note 10, or Note 10+ over the air from the Settings » Software update menu on the phone. You can also update by downloading the latest firmware from our firmware archive and flashing it on the device using a Windows computer. Do let us know if you notice any improvements or changes other than the new security patch once you’ve updated your phone.
