The Galaxy Buds+ are yet to go official, but Samsung’s Galaxy Wearable app already has the option to connect to the company’s upcoming wireless earbuds. We previously saw the Galaxy Buds+ listed in the iOS app that Samsung is preparing to launch for the earbuds, and on Galaxy and Android devices, the Galaxy Wearable app now mentions the Galaxy Buds+ as well.
We have often seen unreleased Samsung wearables listed in the Galaxy Wearable app, which allows one to connect to Galaxy/Gear smartwatches, fitness trackers, and wireless earbuds on Galaxy and Android devices. The latest version of the app was released on February 1 and shows the Galaxy Buds and Galaxy Buds+ as the first option on the device selection screen. Naturally, since no one (except Samsung and its partners) has the new earbuds, this option can only be used to pair with the original Galaxy Buds for now.
At the moment, there is no word on when the Galaxy Buds+ will go on sale after they are unveiled at Samsung’s Unpacked event on February 11. The Galaxy Z Flip, the company’s new clamshell foldable phone, is rumored to go on sale on February 14, and considering the device has no headphone jack, Samsung could release the Galaxy Buds+ with it. The Buds+ may even be bundled with the Galaxy Z Flip, just like the Galaxy Buds come packaged with every Galaxy Fold, though that isn’t something we can confirm right now.
Thanks for the tip, Sleepy Kuma!
