It looks like Samsung is on a roll today. After releasing the Android 10 update to the Galaxy A6 (2018) and the Galaxy A70s, the South Korean firm has rolled out the One UI 2.0 update to the Galaxy A80 in France. Two months ago, the smartphone had picked up the Wi-Fi Alliance certification with the latest Android version on board.
The Galaxy A80 update arrives with firmware version A805FXXU4BTC3 and the February 2020 Android security patch. Along with Android 10, the update should also bring One UI 2.0. It features Dark Mode, Google’s new UI navigation gestures, refreshed UI, smoother animations, tweaked icons, new emojis, more secure Face Unlock, better permissions manager, and more.
Other features include Digital Wellbeing, a redesigned Device Care section, more readable text over wallpapers, an ability to edit camera modes, and an option to display the fingerprint icon even when the screen of the Galaxy A80 is turned off. The screen recorder feature, which was a part of the One UI 2.0 update for most high-end phones, doesn’t seem to have made it to the Galaxy A80.
If you live in France and own the Galaxy A80, you should be able to see the Android 10 update notification today. If you haven’t received the notification, you can check for the update manually by heading to Settings » Software update » Download and install on the phone. If you don’t want to wait until the OTA update shows up, you can download the firmware file from our firmware section and flash it manually.
