Samsung has kicked off the rollout of a new software update for its clamshell foldable, the Galaxy Z Flip, in the United States. The update is for unlocked units and is the second one the Z Flip is receiving since it went on sale in mid-February. The update has build number F700U1UEU1ATBC and comes bundled with the March security patch, which Samsung has also released for other flagships including the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S10, Galaxy Note 10, and Galaxy Note 9.
The build number indicates that more than the March security patch is included, though at this point we’re not aware of the full changelog. The first Galaxy Z Flip update introduced a couple of camera features that were supposed to be present on the device out of the box, and we can assume the latest software release makes other improvements to enhance the overall user experience for customers. We’ll add details about what the update contains once we have them; feel free to let us know yourself if you own a Galaxy Z Flip and have received the update already.
The update can be downloaded over the air from the Settings » Software update menu on the phone. We also have firmware for the device available in our firmware archive for those who want to manually update using a Windows computer.
