Samsung introduced the 6GB Galaxy A51 to the Malaysian smartphone market earlier this year, and now, a few months after release, the 8GB variant has finally made it onto Samsung’s online store in the country.
The new variant doesn’t differ in any other way aside from having an additional 2GB of RAM. It’s also available in the same color options including Prism Crush Blue, Prism Crush Black, and Prism Crush White.
The 8GB Galaxy A51 model costs RM100 extra
While the 6GB Galaxy A51 in Malaysia costs RM 1,299 ($300), prospective buyers wanting to acquire the 8GB model are looking at an RM 1,399 ($323) price tag. Storage remains unchanged at 128GB. Should that not be enough, the phone is equipped with a microSD slot that can read cards with capacities of up to 512GB.
Samsung’s mid-range hero has a 6.5-inch Super AMOLED display with a pixel count of 2400 by 1080, an in-display fingerprint sensor, an Exynos 9611 chipset, a quad camera setup on the back panel including a 5MP macro sensor, and a 32MP wide-angle selfie shooter. The Galaxy A51 has a USB-C port as well as a 3.5mm headphone jack, and all the internal components rely on a 4,000mAh battery with support for 15W fast charging.
