Samsung’s efforts to curb the spread of COVID-19 have extended to Brazil. The company announced today that it’s making donations worth $5 million Brazilian real ($906,000) to the Federal Government, as well as the governments of São Paulo and the State of Amazonas.
Donations offered to the Federal Government consist of COVID-19 rapid test kits as well as tablets and notebooks meant to help the Ministry of Health in these difficult times. Samsung is also making rapid test kits available to the Department of Health of São Paulo, and offered notebooks, tablets, and TVs to Hospital das Clínicas.
Samsung Brazil offers additional support around its facilities
In addition to the donations mentioned above, Samsung announced that it’s giving away surgical face masks to healthcare professionals in Campinas. Samsung’s factories in Campinas were shut down roughly a month ago due to health concerns.
Samsung will donate tablets and COVID-19 test kits to the local government in Manaus, northwestern Brazil. These resources will be distributed among health units dedicated to fighting the COVID-19 outbreak. Samsung’s home appliance and smartphone manufacturing plant in Manaus was also temporarily shut down roughly a month ago.
In the meantime, Samsung customers in Brazil can benefit from extended warranties until May 31 as well as 24/7 online support.
