Unlocked U.S. Galaxy Note 10s getting camera improvements and more

The unlocked variants of Galaxy Note 10 units sold in the U.S. seem to be receiving their second sizable software update this month. While the last one brought the June 2020 Android security update in a sub-200MB package just 20 days ago, its follow-up is already here and is over three times as heavy – at least for the unlocked Galaxy Note 10+ (SM-N975U1). As confirmed by SamMobile reader Madhusha Ambawatta, the update for this particular model is identified by build number N975U1UEU3CTE7. Given how this release is coming directly from Samsung, it’s to be assumed the rollout also encompasses the regular Galaxy Note 10s (SM-N970U1).

Samsung’s own changelog summary pushed out to users mentions a handful improvements, covering everything from camera and touchscreen performance to Wi-Fi stability and security fixes.

600MB worth of Galaxy Note 10 improvements

While the Korean tech giant has yet to publish a detailed breakdown of the new update on its support pages, it appears the software upgrade is primarily focused on making the overall Galaxy Note 10 experience more consistent. Complete device images for eligible models will soon be available for download from SamMobile‘s firmware archive, as is always the case. Of course, you can also attempt triggering the OTA release manually by launching your Settings app, tapping the Software update option near the bottom, and finally performing the Download and install check on the following screen.

Meanwhile, Samsung’s stylus-equipped smartphone series is expected to receive its annual refresh in just over a month. Recent reports point to the Galaxy Note 20 range launching in early August, likely alongside the Galaxy Fold 2 and Galaxy Tab S7 lineups.
