The Galaxy S21 series has so far been the topic of countless rumors and leaked 3D renders but although these resources have been essential to unravelling the mystery surrounding Samsung’s upcoming flagship, they’re nothing like the latest hands-on video.
YouTube channel going by the name of Random Stuff 2 has posted the following hands-on video starring the Galaxy S21+, model number SM-G996U. The video focuses mostly on benchmark results but it also talks a bit about how the device handles photography and offers a short sneak preview of the back panel.
The latter looks exactly like you would expect given the recent leaked renders. The camera bump is flush with the side and top edges of the device and it accommodates three cameras. The back panel is matte black and presumably made of plastic. The Infinity-O display is flat. It doesn’t have the right and left edges wrapping around the phone, and the physical buttons are located on the right edge.
Samsung might have more work left to do on the Camera
The source claims that photography with the Galaxy S21+ is not fantastic on account of color saturation. Blues and greens reportedly stand out too much, however, no sample shots were provided and we can’t be sure of these results.
More importantly, the Galaxy S21+ unit seen in the video might not be running the latest firmware and the final product could tell a completely different story in regards to mobile photography.
As for benchmark results, this is the Galaxy S21+ variant powered by the Snapdragon 888 chipset and it yielded 1115 and 3326 points in Geekbench single-core and multi-core tests, respectively, which is more than what the base Galaxy S21 model scored last week.
