New details surrounding the unannounced Galaxy A22 5G were recently discovered by our colleagues at GalaxyClub, who have confirmed to us that the phone is planned for release in Europe. The Galaxy A22 5G is reportedly an OEM device, which means that it’s being developed, designed, and manufactured under license by a different company, but will be sold by Samsung under the Galaxy brand.
Color options for Europe have been revealed and the Galaxy A22 5G will reportedly hit the shelves in gray, white, light green, and purple. The device will carry model number SM-A225B, and it will be released in two unspecified memory configurations. The Galaxy A21 has 32GB of built-in storage and 3GB of RAM, so we expect at least the same or better from the sequel. Expandable storage will be par for the course.
Although pricing details remain unknown, the Galaxy A22 5G should be a cheaper 5G alternative to the Galaxy A32 5G. The latter was released in Europe at the beginning of February for the starting price of €279, so logic dictates that the Galaxy A22 5G will be priced lower and become the company’s most affordable 5G-enabled phone of the year. According to a previous report, the Galaxy A22 5G will be equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset.
