It was revealed a few days ago that Samsung is working on a higher mid-range smartphone, the Galaxy A82 5G, and that it could be launched as the Galaxy Quantum 2 in South Korea. A few specifications and the front design of the phone were leaked earlier via Google Play Store Console listing. Now, the first live images of the upcoming phone have appeared.
The Galaxy Quantum 2 appears to have a large Super AMOLED Infinity-O display at the front with thin bezels on all sides. The phone could be launched in two colors: black and white. At the rear, the phone appears to have a triple-camera setup with an LED flash. While the camera resolution hasn’t been detailed in any of the leaked images, we expect the phone to feature a wide-angle, an ultrawide, and a telephoto camera. The phone’s size appears very similar to that of the Galaxy S21+, which means that it could have a 6.7-inch display.
Since there isn’t any fingerprint reader on the rear or the side, we expect it to feature an in-display fingerprint reader. One of these images showcases the phone’s additional security features (probably a Quantum Random Number Generator) that can help while online shopping, logging into various online services, and identity verification. The phone could be launched in South Korea exclusively via SK Telecom’s network.
Previous leaks have shown that the Galaxy Quantum 2 features a Snapdragon 855 processor, 6GB RAM, 128GB internal storage, and a 64MP (Sony IMX686) primary camera. And one of the images among the newly-leaked ones confirms the phone’s memory and storage capacity. The phone will also come with a charger (probably 15W) and a USB Type-A to USB Type-C cable. It could also feature Android 11, GPS, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, USB Type-C port, and a 4,500mAh or larger battery with fast charging.
