Samsung appears to have released the latest security update to a bunch of Galaxy smartphones and tablets today. After releasing the April 2021 security patch to the Galaxy A20, Galaxy A30, Galaxy A70, and the Galaxy A8 (2018), the company has started rolling it out to the Galaxy Tab Active 2.
The new update for the Galaxy Tab Active 2, which has firmware version T395XXSCCUD1, has been released in Austria, the Baltic region, Germany, Greece, Italy, Luxembourg, Switzerland, and Southeast Europe. This update fixes a lot of security vulnerabilities and includes 21 fixes from Samsung and 30 fixes from Google.
If you own a Galaxy Tab Active 2 and reside in any of the countries mentioned above, you can update your tablet to the latest software. You can manually check for the update by navigating to Settings » Software update, and then tapping on Download and install on your device. You can also download the firmware from our firmware section and flash it manually. More countries could get the update over the next few days.
The Galaxy Tab Active 2 was launched in late 2017 with Android 7.1.1. It has received two major Android OS updates—Android 8.0 and Android 9.0—since its release. Currently, the device is included in Samsung’s quarterly software update schedule, which means that the next update should arrive in the next three months.
