Although a couple of new mid-range Galaxy smartphones are blurring the lines between the flagship segment and theirs, with features such as 25W fast charging becoming the norm for the Galaxy A52, the majority of budget-oriented Galaxy phones don’t take advantage of such features. Most low-to-mid-range Galaxy phones continue having 15W charging, and this is apparently true for the upcoming Galaxy A22.
New information regarding the Galaxy A22 5G was spotted online at TUV SUD in a certificate that was issued a few weeks ago. Indeed, the document is not brand-new but it was recently discovered via @Sudhanshu1414, and more importantly, it reveals that the Galaxy A22 5G’s battery will be limited to 15W fast charging, as indicated by the 9V, 1.67A rated input.
The certificate doesn’t outright claim that the device in question is the Galaxy A22 5G, but the SM-A226B model number included in the listing is proof enough. The 4G Galaxy A22 should have model number SM-A225F, but it has yet to appear in the TUV SUD database. It will probably benefit from similar 15W fast charging capabilities.
Battery capacities for the 4G / 5G Galaxy A22 are unknown but if we had to take a wild guess, we’d say that the battery must be rated at 4,000-5,000mAh. We’ll probably know for sure later this summer, as the Galaxy A22 5G could be unveiled in July according to a leaked roadmap.
