It’s been nearly a full months since Samsung began seeding the May 2021 security update for the international Galaxy S21, and enough time has passed for the company to release the security patch in India not once, but twice. Now it’s time for the Galaxy S21 series in the USA to enjoy better security thanks to a new firmware update.
Samsung is now rolling out the new firmware update with the May 2021 security patch in tow for the unlocked Galaxy S21 series in the USA (SM-G991U1, SM-G996U1, SM-G998U1). As expected, the latest security patch includes dozens of fixes for vulnerabilities found within Google’s Android OS and Samsung’s own proprietary software.
Camera and Quick Share improvements inbound
The latest firmware update for the unlocked Galaxy S21 series in the USA carries firmware number G99xU1UEU3AUDD, and aside from improved security, the new firmware promises to improve the performance of the camera, enhance Quick Share in general, and improve file sharing between Galaxy devices that use Quick Share.
As always, Samsung customers should be able to acquire the update by tapping the notification once it arrives or by opening the Settings app on the Galaxy S21 and accessing Software update. Alternatively, SamMobile readers who may want to acquire updates faster can download the latest firmware updates manually from our archive.
