Carrier versions of the Galaxy S10 series are getting the August 2021 security update

Samsung had released the August 2021 security update to the international variants of the Galaxy S10 series in the second week of August. However, the carrier-locked versions of the phones weren’t so lucky. The company is now releasing the security update to the carrier-locked versions of the Galaxy S10 series in the US.

The Galaxy S10e, Galaxy S10, and the Galaxy S10+ have started getting the new software update on Comcast and Xfinity Mobile’s network in the US. The new software bears firmware version G97xUSQU6GUH4, and it includes the August 2021 security patch. Samsung had unveiled last month that the August 2021 patch fixes 40 vulnerabilities related to privacy and security.

If you are a Galaxy S10 series smartphone user on Comcast or Xfinity Mobile’s networks in the US, you can check for the update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. You can also choose to download the latest firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually.

Samsung is yet to release the update on AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile’s networks in the US. The smartphones were launched in 2019 with Android 9-based One UI, and they received the Android 10 update last year and the Android 11 update earlier this year.
