While the international variant of the Galaxy Z Flip received the September 2021 security update two weeks ago, the carrier and unlocked versions of the phone haven’t been so lucky. Samsung has now released the August 2021 security update to the unlocked variant of the Galaxy Z Flip in the US.
Samsung’s first clamshell-style foldable smartphone has started getting a new software update on all the US carrier networks, including AT&T, Comcast, C-Spire, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon, and Xfinity Mobile. The update carries firmware version F700U1TBU4EUH6 and includes the August 2021 security patch that fixes more than 40 privacy and security-related vulnerabilities.
The update might also include One UI 3.1.1 enhancements like a Bedtime Mode quick setting toggle, improved Flex Mode features, faster pop-up menus, and a more responsive camera app. Bug fixes and device stability improvements are also a part of this update.
If you are a Galaxy Z Flip user on any of the networks mentioned above, you might have received a notification of the new update. If you haven’t, you can check for the update manually by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. You can also download the latest firmware file from our database and flash it manually.
