Redesigned Samsung Store in London sets a new benchmark in retail

Online shopping has become very popular — almost vital — due to COVID-19 lockdowns, but offline retail hasn’t gone anywhere, and brick & mortar stores are now a lot more active than they were last year. Samsung hasn’t given up on retail either, and in fact, the company recently re-opened its store located on the lower ground floor of Selfridges in London UK to set a new benchmark.

The retail store was redesigned by studio Dalziel & Pow and features interactive shop windows as well as a platform for product launches and brand collaborations. The shop mixes high-tech, fashion, and sustainability to reflect our modern era, and it’s supposed to set a new standard for what a tech retail store should be in 2021 and beyond.

During the store’s opening, Mark Seaman, senior director at Samsung Electronics UK revealed (via Retail Leader): “The unique design aesthetic of our new space in Selfridges is a marker for how we want to reimagine the world of retail at Samsung.” This could indicate that other Samsung physical stores could eventually go through a similar refresh and get a facelift at other locations and possibly in additional markets.

The redesigned retail front at Selfridges is a place to experience all things Samsung, from smart lifestyle TVs to BESPOKE refrigerators, Galaxy smartphones, laptops, and more.
