Samsung announced the opening of its first premium store in Germany this week. The company’s new concept area is located in the KaDeWe department store in Berlin and promises to offer a unique shopping experience for a wide range of Samsung products categories.
The concept store has an area of 100 square meters, so it’s large enough to host demonstrations for products ranging from foldable phones to large home appliances and the company’s new microLED and Neo QLED 8K TVs. Of course, the retail space is set up in such a way that allows visitors to experience Samsung’s rich and interconnected product ecosystem. Most products are networked inside the store to allow visitors to experience Samsung’s IoT platform — SmartThings — in real-time, control devices remotely, and so on.
The Samsung saga continues
Samsung’s been launching new and redesigning existing Experience Stores for the past few months. The company relaunched its store in London to set a new benchmark a couple of months ago. Since then, Samsung launched new stores in Spain and Belgium and redesigned two existing retail spaces in Canada to reflect the modern era.
It does seem like Samsung is now focusing on enhancing its offline retail experience more than before. As it should, given that one of its biggest rivals — Xiaomi — said on record that it plans to establish an expansive network of 30,000 offline stores by 2024.
