Unlocked Galaxy Note 20 is getting November 2021 security update in the US

Samsung has released the November 2021 security update to most of its high-end smartphones released over the past two years. The international variants of the Galaxy Note 20 and the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra received the update yesterday. The company is now rolling out the security patch to the unlocked Galaxy Note 20 units in the US.

The unlocked variants of the Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra are getting new updates with firmware version N98xU1UES2DUJ7. While we don’t have the official changelog yet, the update brings the November 2021 security patch that fixes dozens of security vulnerabilities found in Galaxy devices. The new software might also fix some bugs and improve the stability of the phones.

The update is currently rolling out in the US on the following networks: AT&T, Bluegrass Cellular, Comcast, C-Spire, Sprint, Tracfone, Verizon, and Xfinity Mobile. The carrier-locked variants of the Galaxy Note 20 haven’t received the update yet, but that could happen over the next few weeks.

If you are a Galaxy Note 20 (SM-N981U1) or Galaxy Note 20 Ultra (SM-N986U1) user in the US, you can check for the new software update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. You can also download the latest firmware file from our database and flash it manually.
