[Poll] Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 edge, which one are you getting?

The Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge are here, and they are awesome, at least from what we saw in the short time we played with the devices. Both devices come with the same specs, but the S7 edge has the Edge display (and is larger in size) with improved Edge functionality, including the ability for third-party developers to add more features to the Edge panel.

Other than that, however, the two new flagships are excellent in pretty much every major aspect (and even the little ones), and it will pretty much come down to screen size preference, whether someone wants the Edge screen, and if they are willing to pay the extra price for the curved display.

Samsung will throw in a free Gear VR with every pre-order of the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge

Samsung has just announced that it’ll be throwing in a free Gear VR headset worth $99 with every pre-order of the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge in Asia, Europe, North America and South America. We’ve already filled you in on the pricing of both handsets, but in case you need a quick refresher: the former will start at $780 for the 32GB variant, whilst the latter will carry a price tag of $799 for the 32GB model.  Both devices will go on sale worldwide on Friday, March 11 with pre-orders starting at 8:00 a.m. EST on Tuesday, February 23.

Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge come with liquid cooling, other gaming goodies

The Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge come with the new Vulcan API for gaming that Android 6.0 introduced to the platform, and Samsung has also built-in quite a few tools and features of its own to improve the gaming experience. Well, the company announced at the Unpacked event that the phones also come with liquid cooling to keep things, well, cool during times of stress in those gaming sessions! That’s impressive and very cool (if you’ll pardon the pun).

Samsung also brought Epic Games on stage to show what the new gaming API will offer for future games, and it announced that the devices will come with a Games Pack that offers $200 worth of free in-game currency for in-app purchases. All in all, Samsung seems bent on showcasing how its new flagships are great at gaming, especially thanks to the increased processor horsepower and Marshmallow’s new gaming libraries.

Samsung Pay expanding to seven new countries this year

About a week ago Samsung announced that the company is going to confirm its global expansion plans for Samsung Pay at its Mobile World Congress 2016 event and it has done precisely that today. The company has confirmed that Samsung Pay is going to be expanded to seven new countries this year. It’s already available in South Korea and United States where more than 5 million people have already signed up to use the payments service.

Samsung Pay will be expanded to Australia, Canada, Brazil, Singapore, Spain and UK this year, as we had exclusively reported, the company has already confirmed that Samsung Pay will go live in China next month. The company didn’t confirm precisely when the service will go live in these markets but at least it has confirmed that Samsung Pay will certainly be launched in these countries in 2016.

Samsung unveils Lens Cover accessory for the Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 edge

Samsung has just unveiled the Lens Cover accessory for the Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 edge. As the name indicates, this will give you enhanced control over your camera and provide professional level zooming capabilities. The company hasn’t announced the pricing for this accessory as of yet, although we expect more details to come through momentarily.

We’ve already learnt about the pricing of the Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 edge. Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+ and Galaxy S7 edge specs comparison

Samsung has unveiled its 2016 flagship handsets today and they’re everything we expected them to be, and then some. The Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 edge have been announced today, last year Samsung also launched the Galaxy S6 edge+ a few months later, it was essentially the Galaxy S6 edge but with a larger display. Considering the fact that the Galaxy S7 edge already has a 5.5-inch Quad HD display there doesn’t seem to be much room in the lineup now to squeeze in a Galaxy S7 edge+ as well.
