Samsung is planning to provide a huge incentive to its chip suppliers by paying 14.2 billion won, the equivalent of $12.3 million. The tech company has 103 chip suppliers and it’s been making some solid progress in this department as of late.
2015 has been a big year for chipsets, with the arrival of the Snapdragon 810 as well as the Exynos 7420, and Samsung recorded a massive victory with their hardware. It’s obvious that they’re starting to work on better technologies, and this incentive should ensure the quality of many future devices. This incentive is the largest one ever offered to all the chip suppliers, and Samsung has been offering these compensations for 5 years now. The tech giant usually takes a small or medium firm and provides the incentive to help it grow. This has turned out to be a reliable strategy for Samsung in the long run, and the recipient companies are decided based on the overall quality and safety.
As of this year Samsung has also taken the decission to provide these incentives on a bi-annual basis rather than just once a year. This is likely due to the weak state of the economy, and the tech company has also contributed to the production process by dispatching specialists to these suppliers. Rumor has it that Samsung could even provide the chips for the next-generation iPhones, and this could only mean that they provide some of the best chips on the market.
